Relationship Manager
Do you enjoy working in a dynamic start-up environment? Are you motivated by the opportunity to build a world-leading incubator and strengthen collaborative learning across all BII programs? And do you want to be part of a fast-paced international life science environment and help create the best opportunities for our early-stage life science start-ups?

If so, we might have the perfect job opportunity for you. The BioInnovation Institute Foundation (BII) is looking for a Relationship Manager who will be responsible for managing our Residence Program and our network of private sector Collaborators.

BII is an independent commercial foundation with a not-for-profit objective. We have established a collaborative workspace in Copenhagen to bring together entrepreneurial researchers and company creators from different disciplines. BII workspace currently hosts more than 40 life science start-ups and company creation projects. Being founded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation we still maintain close ties to both the Novo Nordisk Foundation and Novo Holdings.

The Residence Program enables BII to host companies that have managed to raise VC or other forms of financing and hereby are at a more mature stage than companies participating in BII funding programs. These companies diversify the BII ecosystem and contribute to creating the most attractive life science hub in Europe. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Residence Program.

In addition to interacting with start-ups in its ecosystem, BII collaborates with various organizations including service providers (e.g. law firms and contract research organizations), investors and larger life science companies. This Collaborator network is of high priority for BII and it enables best-in-class advice and services to BII and the start-ups participating in BII programs. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the contracts for our network of Collaborators to ensure that they provide value for the entire organisation.

The Job
In the role of Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for anchoring BII’s relationships with two primary types of external stakeholders:

  • Companies that want to apply to or are already in BII’s Residence Program, and
  • BII’s network of Collaborators.

Our working environment is dynamic and diverse. Partnering with key internal stakeholders such as legal, finance and facility management in the BII organisation is key to managing the tasks professionally and proactively.

For the Residence Program you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating communication and outreach to recruit new Residence Program companies to BII.
  • Handling applications and conducting interviews with program applicants.
  • Ensuring that the necessary legal documents and rental agreements are in place and kept updated.
  • Ensuring a smooth on- and off-boarding process for each company in the program.
  • Integrating program companies as an active part of the BII ecosystem.
  • Financial planning, forecasting and reporting for the program.

For the Collaborator network you will be responsible for:

  • Anchoring our collaborations so that they deliver high value to BII and our start-ups.
  • Coordinating end-to-end execution of collaboration agreements to ensure successful delivery of intended collaboration outcome.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of collaborations.
  • Developing an Alumni network for start-ups that have participated in BII Programs.
  • Integrating collaborations as part of BII’s organization and program offerings.
  • Reporting for Collaborator network status and impact to BII leadership.
